One Year of BnB 83, Thanks Everybody!

It’s now been over a year since we took over this Bed & Breakfast at Crocetta Area in Turin and today I can tell the jobs in these first months of activity.

I admit that I initially doubted the actual potential of this place, the first months as all the new activities were “embarrassing”, and I wondered if it was worth to spend a lot of money for a place that trudged.

Then with a lot of work, dedication and above all “presence” the place began to continuously fill up giving me the opportunity to improve certain aspects of the place.

Now, looking back, I can calmly say that it was a winning choice and indeed in many months I met many beautiful people who even if they stayed for one night stopped to have a chat with me to tell their stories and their experiences.

People came from all over the world, the farthest I think were “colleagues” who own a B&B in New Zealand, exquisite people like the Italian Canadians who stayed for several days and obviously many others.

Of course not everything is beautiful and fantastic, even I have received my negative reviews, the place is beautiful, very nice, but not everyone likes it. Many expect to find a 5 * hotel, with services of that category, but in the end the BnB 83 still remains a Guesthouse.

Sometimes I got angry at obviously foolish reviews like the one who complained about the lack of the pool, or those that give me rate 4.5 out of 10, because I did not agree to let them enter at 0:00 after they had gone to celebrate, but at the end criticisms and complaints are also good for trying to improve and move forward.

The greatest satisfaction is seeing people returning even after months because this means that the work done is done well and above all with passion.

I thank all those who have chosen to come to me in these months, it is only thanks to them that the BnB 83 exists and goes on!

New Season New Menus at BnB 83!

With the beginning of the “new season” we have prepared the new menus that will complement the existing ones of the Roman and Piedmontese dinners, highly appreciated by our customers.

We offer a “light” menu, an economic one, which includes a first course, a second course and a side dish with seasonal fruit and a more substantial and even tastier menu fish based.

The latter includes a very particular and refined menu with a venus rice cake with calamari, fresh prawns and crispy salmon, Sardinian fregola with clams, orange prawns and lemon panna cotta. All accompanied by a bottle of Sardinian wine.

The “popular” menu includes a first course with spaghetti with homemade pesto, grilled steak with salad or baked potatoes and fruit salad or seasonal fruit. Wine apart.

From October our dinners will start again, we are waiting for you!

The Wonder Woods of Sant’Ambrogio

A few kilometers from Turin, just at the base of the Sacra di San Michele, there is an “enchanted” place that I recently discovered thanks to my wife.

To reach it you have to get to Sant’Ambrogio and from there walk a piece of the old mule track that goes up to the Sacra and at some point you meet the entrance to the wood.

You will thus be catapulted into a strange environmnet, far from our usual urban rhythms and everyday’schaos.

You will find the throne of Arthur, the corner of the witches, the giant pencils, the house of the gnomes and much more.

A place that reminded me of when I was a child taking me to a playground where the only attractions were fixed things (in the sense without roller coasters, electricity and noise) and you only enjoyed yourself if you let yourself go to your imagination.

Actually this is a location created ad hoc by people who want to combine their passion and work and you can view their offer here at http://boscodellemeraviglie.it/, surely you will find something interesting to entertain your children (but in the end all of us have fun in this place!).

In any case it is worth taking a walk inside even when there are no activities (it’s an open space), the important thing is to always respect the environment and leave things as they are!

Do you want to try the Via Ferrata? We will come with you!

The Via Ferrata is a route that takes place in the mountains, mainly on steep walls or even vertically, where to climb along a path with ironed steps, always hooked to a safety cable (hence the name of Via Ferrata).

Near Turin there are beautiful Via Ferrata, of all levels of difficulty and with different landscapes, some usable all year round, others only in spring / summer, but obviously it is not recommended to practice this sport outside of summer.

If you have the curiosity to try this sport, near our BnB 83 there is a shop that rents the necessary technical equipment and in about 50 minutes by car you reach the Chianocco’s Ferrata (Orrido di Chianocco). A short but very interesting Via Ferrata for those who have never practiced this sport.

So if you want to try this “adventure”, we will gladly come with you!

Lunch and Dinner at BnB 83

As anticipated, in the end I decided to do it and I set up both the courtyard and the kitchen to start offering all my guests both aperitifs and mainly Piedmontese and Roman lunches and dinners.

I propose simple menus, but typical of both Piedmont and Rome, with dishes that can certainly be appreciated by both adults and children.

Everything is cooked expressly by me, or latey the day before regarding the desserts, which need to rest and cool in the refrigerator, or the marinade of the Piedmontese braised beef that takes about 12 hours to marinate.

Here you can find photos of how the garden was set up for lunch; in the evening the atmosphere is even more romantic and “enchanted”.
Let’s say that the courtyard is transformed into a small exclusive corner of the Crocetta area in Turin.

If you want to spend a nice evening or a good lunch with me do not hesitate to contact me to book your dinner or lunch at the BnB 83.

You will not regret it!
